Meet the Staff
Alasdair Mathieson BVMS MRCVS
I've been in this game for too long, but the trouble is that I still really enjoy my work. I keep saying there is no substitute for experience but the staff keep telling me there is no fool like an old fool. My pet hates are arrogance and animal cruelty, but I do enjoy family walks and rock music.
Kirsten Macleod BVMS (Hons) MRCVS
I joined the practice in August 2011 and I love the daily variety of medical and surgical work that the job brings. My particular interest is ophthalmology (eyes) and I have started studying towards further certification in this subject. Outside of work my young son is the focus of my attention and in my “free time” I like to go to the gym, especially for kickboxing training, and improve my Spanish.
Karen Mackay RVN & MBVNA
Karen is our head nurse and has been with Alasdair from the start. She is currently on maternity leave.
Heather Macintyre RVN
I have been vet nursing for more years than I wish to admit! Work wise I am interested in dentistry, dermatology and rabbit health. Outside work I dabble in art and am an avid fan of all things sheep related, in particular the Blackface and Blueface Leicester breeds.
Claire Williams RVN
I have been in practice for quite a few years and qualified in January 2011. My main interests at work include weight management, and smelly stuff like cat abscesses. My spare time is taken up looking after my small menagerie of animals, which include 3 horses, 2 cats and a dog.
Louise Morton - Secretary
I joined the clinic in 2008 with the opening of the new building. It is the perfect job for me because animals are my passion, especially my two terriers and collection of guinea pigs – some might say I prefer them to humans!
Debs MacIver - Secretary
I have been working in the veterinary field for the last 10 years and moved to Culloden Vets when it opened in July 2008. I enjoy looking after the clients and I leave the animal side to the professionals. However I do steal lots of cuddles from the furry ones which is the best part of the job.
Helen Mathieson - Secretary
I've been working as a part time receptionist at CvC since September 2009. I have a very feisty Jack Russell called Holly who rules the roost when it comes to the practice, unfortunately I have to share her with Alasdair. Yes, he is my dad, but please don't hold that against me.
Lynn Littlejohn - Secretary
I have been working at the practice as a part time receptionist since 2009. In my spare time I am busy looking after my two dogs, two cats and two rabbits, and enjoy nothing better than long walks on the beach.
